Subject: Checking

Hi I just started playing womens ice hockey and I love it so don't get
me wrong....but I was just wondering why women aren't allowed to check?
If men can handle checking I think we can too. I'm just sick of people
saying that women's hockey isn't real ice hockey because we don't check.
Thanks for your time.

Personnally I think that women play better hockey. Men's hockey is so
full
of checking & fighting that appears skill has become secondary. If you
have
watched any women AAA hockey and compare it to men's you'll will see the
difference. Women must have hockey and skating skills to succeed they
can't
just bash the other players that get in their way. Brains over brawn.

Though this does not directly relate to Women's hockey, after reading some
of the talk about women playing under different rules, and how their game
is more brain, I thought some of you might like seeing this-sorta to
illustrate the differences of thinking, and how if you look at something
one way, it is better to you, but someone else could see it a different
way. This is a similar concept to women's hockey. Many see women's hockey
at certain levels as more skillful, but others have less respect for it,
and prefer the rules of men's hockey.
