Hi,
A couple of summers ago I worked at girls' hockey camps in New England.
Here's a copy of the descriptions I posted last year. While the staff at
these camps has probably changed, the camps themselves should be about the
same. These camps varied greatly in skill and age level as well as
physical intensity. They included:
>Paul Vincents Dynamic Skating camps are intense hockey clinics which are
>held all over New England. Some are boarding camps and some are day
>camps. Most are co-ed. The only women's camps are boarding camps held at
>the Williston-North Hampton School in East Hampton, MA. Many of the co-ed
>camps are specialized for forwards, defense, goalies, or for specific
>skills like shooting and passing. The staff varies from camp to camp, and
>includes coaches and players from the UMASS colleges, players from the USA
>and Canadian Women's national teams, and players from Div. I women's
>hockey teams. PV is based in Peabody, MA.
>
>The Babson Girls' Hockey Camp is a boarding camp held at Babson College in
>Wellesley, MA. It is run by Steve Stirling, the Babson Athletic Director
>(he also runs the Europa Cup summer leagues). The coaching staff
>consisted of players from the U.S. women's national team, the
>Northfield-Mount Hermon and Taft Schools, local town teams, and recent
>graduates from UNH and Princeton. The counsellors included players from
>UNH, Princeton, Yale, Cornell, Milton Academy, and Lawrenceville Academy.
>
>
>There is a girl's camp here at Cornell run by Julie Andeberhan, our head
>coach. This past summer the staff aslo included our asst. coach Carol
>Mullins, many of my teammates, and Karen Bye from Team USA. For more info
>on the Cornell camp, call the athletic office at (607) 255-5220.
>
>Phillips Exeter Acadamy and Dartmouth College each run thier own camps in
>NH. I don't know much about either of them except that the Katie Stone
>from Harvard was at Exeter this past summer, and that George Crowe runs
>the Dartmouth camp which is staffed mostly by Dartmouth players.
Note: the Blue Hills camp will not be held this summer.
I'm sorry I don't have the numbers for these camps here at school with me.
There are also girls/women's summer leages in MA at Babson College and at
the Marlboro rink.
See Ya,
Jess

I have had many players at this camp and they felt it was good. They were
divided into groups based on ability. I have also had former players work at
it and they too felt the camp was good. It is now 2 weeks long, around the
first week in August. It fills up real fast!
The only phone # I have is the Dartmouth Women's Hockey Office at (603)
646-2274. George Crow is the camp director.

The map our team received shows the South Fletcher arena on the far left side.
Travelling north (towards the top of the map) take Highway #10 and turn
left on Ray Lawson Blvd. Turn right on McLauchlin Rd and the Arena is on
the right.
Any list members attending the Brampton Tournament interested in getting
together?

Hi.
I was wondering if there is a web-site for this upcoming weekend's
tournament in Brampton, Ontario. Since it is the largest Women's/Girls
tournament in N.A. it would merit a WWW site. Perhaps one of the
organizers could respond...
Thanks,

World Championship web page:
http://www.cs.toronto.edu/~andria/WWC_1997.html
There are some articles (mainly about Team USA Women)
available from the SLAM! web site. The address is

Or you can get to this link from my 1997 World Championship page.
Has everyone got their tickets for the World Championship yet?
I have tickets for: CAN -v- SWI, FIN -v- USA, SWI -v- RUS, and
the gold medal game. I heard that tickets for the gold medal
game are almost sold out. Can anyone confirm this? It should
be a fun tournament!! :-)

John Drews from the South Shore Women's Hockey League
near Boston put together a women's team to go to the 1st
White Nights Hockey Tournament in St. Petersburg in 1992 (I
think - all these years have been running together!). I
don't have his current phone number, but also Julia Ashmun
(email@hidden) would be able to put you in touch
with someone there if they're putting a team together.
Good Luck!!

I forgot one other place to look: Go to Andria
Hunter's home page on Women's Hockey, and look under
Russia. I believe they have the White Nights Tourny
listed there.
