All,

Last Thursday (8/22) Frank Vanslager and I had one, possibly two COMMON
POORWILL calling in the Senador Mine area of Almaden Quicksilver County Park.
We had COPO calls from two different areas but not at the same time. On
Friday we checked out Ravenswood, the Palo Alto Yacht Harbor and Byxbee Park
areas with none but the "usual suspects" being seen. (A case of good
planning with poor execution, the batteries on my Palm were giving out and I
misread the tide chart; right place, wrong day.)

Take care,
Bob Reiling, 12;35 PM, 8/26/02

I was told by a local resident that park rangers were giving out tickets to
people who were in the Park after closing time (sunset?). This was because
of the high fire danger and to discourage crepuscular/nocturnal alcohol-
consuming revelers. I am arranging for a permit to take small groups into
the park after hours if anyone is interested.

Jim,

Do you happen to have the British Bruce Barrett's email? The Santa
Cruz Bruce Barrett is trying to get in touch with him.

I wasn't even aware that there were two!

Thanks for any help!

I suspect that many/most of you do not know about this website:
http://www.sialia.com/s/calists.pl It automatically and in real time
aggregates the messages from almost all the California birding lists and
presents them in an elegant, easy to use format. Very useful for someone
trying to decide where to go birding for the weekend, for instance.
